If you’re looking at teaching in Singapore, the pay is generally very solid. Most English teachers earn somewhere between SGD $3,000 and $8,000 a month, depending on where they work and what qualifications they bring.

In private language centres, salaries usually sit around $3,000–$4,500, which is enough to live comfortably if you budget well. International schools pay much more — often $5,000–$8,000+ — but they expect stronger credentials like a PGCE, QTS, or several years of experience.

Some teachers also pick up corporate classes or freelance work, which can pay $40–$80 an hour, especially if you specialise in business English or exam prep.

Singapore isn’t the cheapest place in the world, but the salaries are designed to match the cost of living, and most teachers find they can save a decent amount once they settle in.
